Located in Ajialouna’s Medical Center in Ajialouna’s building in Beirut, the pharmacy is supervised by three volunteer Pharmacists. It provides both monthly medication for chronic cases and medication needed during the treatment and examination of patients. It serves students referred by the school health education program, their families, the elderly as well as patients referred by the social department. All services and medications are provided free of charge.
90% of the medication is bought by Ajialouna and the rest is donated as samples from drug companies, hospitals and private clinics.
In 2010 a total of 19,800 medicine boxes were distributed.
Ajialouna Pharmacy provides the medication prescribed by the associations’ doctors at the centers and school clinics to all registered patients (mainly the students, the elderly and cancer cases).
If the prescribed medication is not available at Ajialouna’s pharmacy, the patient will be sent to collect the prescription from a pharmacy that Ajialouna has an agreement with, and Ajialouna will pay for the medication.
